Ecocrete.... have you heard about it yet? I’m c Ecocrete.... have you heard about it yet? I’m currently editing this shoot for @wabisabiplace, a beautiful range of ecocrete plant pots in all sizes! Sometimes simple is best. It's just knowing what k Sometimes simple is best. It's just knowing what kind of simple to go for.⁠ Here a few sprigs of native leaves & a simple piece of natural linen are all that are needed to showcase these three natural wood and laser etched 'tidy' labels.⁠ ⁠ BUT, simple doesn't mean easy.... some of the decisions that needed to be made for this shot were : ⁠ ⁠ 1. What type of native plants to use, leaves or flowers?⁠ 2. Should there be leaves all around or just at the top or just at the bottom?⁠ 3. Exactly what type of surface should we use, fabric, paper, marble, wood etc?⁠ 4. Should the linen be crumpled or ironed?⁠ 5. What order should the tags go in?⁠ ⁠ How these decisions are made is sometimes hard to articulate, t can be a feeling more than a logical answer.⁠ ⁠ Here, my thought process was as follows :⁠ 1. Leaves relate more closely to wood, they are simple and create beautiful forms. This is not a 'pretty' shot, it is more practical = leaves⁠ 2. I tried leaves in ALL the scenarios and this one felt right. The leaves point into the frame and draw your eye down to the tags⁠ 3. Fabric felt right, the linen is natural in colour, not too strong against the colours of the tags felt 'homely' it also works with the brand colours of @secondscoutau⁠ 4. Easy... Ironed. This is not a 'crumpled' brand company! They are organised, straight-line graphics, they promote order and organisations not boho go with the flow! ⁠ 5. Isn't this the order you make decisions in?!?!? 😉 ⁠ ⁠ PS.
